What we are
We’re an independent information hub. We translate the federal Extra Help rules and 50 different state Medicare Savings Programs into plain language, put a free eligibility estimator in front of the figures, and cite every number to its primary source so you can check it yourself.
What we are not

- We are not a Medicare broker and we do not sell insurance.
- We do not give legal or financial advice for your individual case.
For your situation, the people who actually decide are SSA (for Extra Help) and your state Medicaid office (for Medicare Savings Programs). Your free SHIP counselor can help you with both at no cost.
How we keep figures current
CMS and SSA publish the Extra Help income and resource limits each year (typically late in the prior year, effective in January). We review and update the figures annually and pin a last-verified date to every claim. State Medicare Savings Program rules change more slowly and independently; our state pages carry the framework classification and point to the state and SHIP for the exact current figure. We are recruiting a SHIP-certified benefits counselor or licensed Medicare advisor to review this content. Until then, every figure is cited to its primary CMS/SSA source with a last-verified date so you can check it yourself. We will not display a reviewer we don’t have.
How the site makes money
Honesty matters here, because the audience has been burned by “free help” that wasn’t. This site is supported by unobtrusive display advertising and, potentially in the future, a clearly disclosed referral to a licensed Medicare agent — but only for the small group of people who turn out not to qualify for Extra Help or a Medicare Savings Program, and only if they ask to see options. We always surface the free SHIP counselor first. We never put a broker funnel in front of people who qualify for help, and we never log your financial details.
